Advising financial institutions, investment funds, fintech companies, and private clients on Bahamian regulatory compliance, fund structuring, and cross-border financial law.
Simone V. Cartwright was called to the Bahamas Bar in 2007 and has since built one of Nassau's most respected financial law practices. She advises domestic and international clients on the full range of regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters that arise under the Securities Industry Act, the Investment Funds Act, and the Banks and Trust Companies Regulation Act.
Before establishing her own chambers, Simone served as Associate Counsel at the Securities Commission of The Bahamas, where she gained firsthand insight into the regulatory landscape that now informs every aspect of her practice. She holds an LL.B. from the University of the West Indies and an LL.M. in International Banking and Finance Law from University College London.

Simone guided our fund through the full licensing process under the Investment Funds Act with remarkable efficiency. Her deep familiarity with the Securities Commission made what could have been a months-long ordeal move smoothly and predictably.
When we needed to restructure our Bahamian operations to meet new AML compliance requirements, Simone provided exactly the kind of clear, actionable counsel we needed. She does not just identify problems, she builds practical solutions.
Our family office engaged Simone to establish a purpose trust and private trust company in Nassau. Her expertise in Bahamian trust law and her attention to our family's cross-border complexities gave us complete confidence in the structure.
Simone's knowledge of the DARE Act was essential when we launched our digital asset exchange. She navigated the regulatory sandbox process and helped us secure our licence well ahead of our projected timeline.
